Generating a Summary

After finishing a recording, you can generate an AI summary that distills your transcript into a structured overview. The AI reads the entire transcript and organizes it by topic.

    Open a completed recording

    Navigate to the recording you want to summarize.

    Click Generate Summary

    Press the summary button. The AI processes your full transcript — this may take a few seconds for longer recordings.

    Review the results

    The summary appears with a title, overview, topic-based sections, and extracted action items.

What's Included in a Summary

Each summary contains:

Title — A concise, descriptive title generated from the content.

Overall Summary — A 2–4 sentence overview covering the main points.

Sections — The content is organized by topic (not by speaker), with each section having a heading and summary. If timestamps are available, each section includes a time range so you can jump to the relevant part of the recording.

Smart Detection

The AI automatically detects the content type — lecture, meeting, presentation, or general conversation — and adjusts its summary style accordingly.

Action Items & Todos

The AI also extracts action items mentioned during the recording and creates a todo list. Only explicitly mentioned tasks are included — the AI does not guess or infer tasks that weren't stated.

When possible, the AI assigns action items to the speaker who was given the task, and the speaker's real name is inferred from conversation context.
