Managing Recordings

Organize, search, and manage your recording history with folders and filters.

Your Recording Library

All your recordings are listed in the sidebar, showing the title, duration, and date for each one. Click any recording to open it and view the full transcript, summary, and annotations.

You can rename a recording by clicking its title in the detail view. The action menu (⋯) provides options to move, rename, or delete a recording.

Organizing with Folders

Folders help you group related recordings. For example, you might create folders for different courses, projects, or meeting series.

  1. 1

    Create a folder

Click the + button in the sidebar to create a new folder and give it a name.

  2. 2

    Move recordings into folders

Use the action menu on a recording and select Move to Folder, or drag and drop a recording onto a folder in the sidebar.

  3. 3

    Browse folder contents

Click a folder in the sidebar to see only the recordings in that folder.

Search

Voicord offers global search across all your recordings. It searches both recording titles and transcript content, so you can find a recording by something that was said.

When viewing a specific recording, search switches to local mode — filtering through the current transcript to help you find a specific moment.

Keyboard Shortcut

Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to quickly open the search bar from anywhere in the app.

Recycle Bin

When you delete a recording, it moves to the Recycle Bin instead of being permanently removed. You can restore deleted recordings at any time from the Recycle Bin.

To permanently delete recordings, open the Recycle Bin and choose to delete individual recordings or empty the entire bin. Permanent deletion cannot be undone.

Permanent Deletion

Emptying the Recycle Bin permanently removes all deleted recordings and their audio files. This action cannot be reversed.
